Inter want to get contract extension talks with defender Milan Skriniar well underway soon so as to get the jump on any possible interest from Paris Saint-Germain from signing him.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri want to ensure that they get ahead of the interest of the Parisians in signing the 27-year-old in January, and, if worse comes to worse, have plenty of time to identify a replacement.

Skriniar’s contract situation means that PSG are still lurking in the background, with the French champions reportedly prepared to make an offer for him in the January transfer window if he has not agreed a contract extension.

The Nerazzurri do not want to see the situation drag on for too long and give the Parisians hope of signing Skriniar, and so they want to get the situation clarified soon, and if they cannot agree a new deal, they would at least like to have time to calmly search for a replacement.
