Italian agent Oscar Damiani feels that at the moment both Inter and Juventus are lacking the kind of clear style of play that would allow them to mount a serious title challenge.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio CRC, Damiani gave the view that both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri are held back from challenging for the Scudetto by the lack of an identity on the pitch.
Right now things are still relatively tightly bunched together at the top of the Serie A table, and even the erratic form of Inter and Juventus has not seen them fall too far behind league leaders Napoli and Atalanta in the early going.
More worrying than the results and points totals, arguably, having been the nature of the performances, and for Damiani both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri have not shown that they have the ideas to haul themselves back into the title race.
“There aren’t many points in terms of a gap, but Inter and Juve don’t have an identity,” he argued. “Juventus have been struggling, and their best players like Pogba are missing, but the season is still very long and they can return to being competitive.”
