Chelsea are thinking about resuming their interest in Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries during the January transfer window, and could try to buy him and then loan him back to the Nerazzurri for the rest of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 26-year-old is still very much on the Blues’ radar and that they would be ready to offer as much as €50 million.

Chelsea had picked up an interest in signing Dumfries towards the end of the summer transfer window, but in the end it did not come to anything and the Dutchman remained at Inter.

However, the London-based club continue to see the 26-year-old as a target, and could already be looking to move for him as soon as January, possibly offering a similar arrangement to the one which saw Tottenham Hotspur sign Destiny Udogie from Udinese and then loan him back for this season.
