Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani was rested by the Albanian national team in their game against Iceland as he is set to start for Inter against AS Roma on Saturday, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the young midfeilder is expected to start for Inter as Marcelo Brozovic is suspended for the game against the Giallorossi. He is also now injured so would not have played regardless of the suspension.

Inter reportedly asked Albania coach Edy Reja to consider resting Kristjan Asllani against Iceland given the game had no competitive importance. He obliged and the midfielder should be fresh to face AS Roma.

As for Hakan Calhanoglu, he is working hard to be fit but may struggle to take the field from the first minute as Simone Inzaghi would like. He has been at Inter during the whole international break trying to recover.
