Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is not likely to be risked for Inter’s Champions League group stage clash with Barcelona on Tuesday.

This according to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInter1908, who report that the 25-year-old has suffered a strain to his left thigh flexor and that it is not likely that the team will take the risk with his fitness of having him play against the Blaugranas.

Martinez had suffered a thigh problem after the end of yesterday evening’s Serie A loss to Roma, and tests this morning suggested that it was some muscular fatigue.

The problem is not likely to be a long-term one, but the team will not want to take the risk of starting the Argentine against Barcelona given that he could then cause a muscle tear.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri will likely be without the 25-year-old, whilst Romelu Lukaku will also miss the match.

Thus, it will be up to Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa to lead the line against Barcelona, whilst Henrikh Mkhitaryan could also play as a second striker.
