Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi To Keep Playing Samir Handanovic To Avoid Angering The Goalkeeper, Italian Media Claim

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is continuing to play Samir Handanovic in the Serie A matches because he is concerned about angering the Slovenian, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Repubblica, there seem to be more political reasons rather than tactical ones for Simone Inzaghi to keep using Samir Handanovic in the Serie A matches.

So far since Andre Onana’s arrival, the Cameroonian goalkeeper has only played in the three Champions League group games whilst Samir Handanovic has been starting all of the Serie A matches.

Samir Handanovic’s performances have been largely mixed but many feel that the Sassuolo match is the one where the change should be made.

The report suggests that Samir Handanovic is not a player who likes to be benched and it was not easy to make him accept not playing the Champions League matches so that Andre Onana has some games.
