Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia feels that while his team have real Scudetto ambitions, they also have many strong rivals to contend with.
Speaking to Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the Georgian named Inter, AC Milan, and Lazio among the teams who the Partenopei will have to contend with to try and win the Serie A title.
Napoli have established themselves as the favourites to win the title this season in Serie A in the eyes of many.
The Partenopei are currently joint top of the table along with Atalanta, whilst AC Milan are following closely on their heels.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are slowly catching up after beating Sassuolo today, and a number of other teams are not too far behind at the top end of the table.
As things stand, the Partenopei are arguably the best-placed of anyone to go all the way, but it is still early in the season, and as Kvaratskhelia points out, there are many formidable rivals for the crown.
“The Scudetto is a dream, of course,” he said, “at this point it’s out goal.”
“There are many strong teams though, of the highest level, and for this reason it will be tough,” he continued.
Kvaratskhelia named “Milan, Inter, Juve, Lazio, Roma, Atalanta, Fiorentina. Udinese also started the season in great form.”
