Either Federico Dimarco or Matteo Darmian will line up on the left in Inter’s starting eleven to face Barcelona on Wednesday.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that one of the two will play at left-wingback in the Champions League group stage, whilst Denzel Dumfries will start on the right.
Both Dimarco and Darmian started in last Tuesday’s win over Barcelona, with Diamrco taking up his customary position on the left and Darmian on the right.
However, Dumfries is likely to start in the reverse fixture given his strong display against Sassuolo over the weekend.
Given that the Dutchman will play on the right, he could simply replace Darmian like-for-like, with Dimarco keeping his place on the left flank.
However, it is also possible that the versatile Darmian could instead be shifted over to the Nerazzurri’s left side to accommodate Dumfries, with Dimarco making way.
