Legendary former AC Milan, Real Madrid, and England coach Fabio Capello feels that at the moment Inter are still a work in progress.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the former coach suggested that at the moment the Nerazzurri are still tweaking the formula to try and find the setup that suits them best.

Inter have no shortage of quality in their squad, and have shown themselves to be capable of playing good football and getting results at times this season.

However, especially in the early parts of the campaign there have been clear deficiencies and a sense that there is a lack of balance.

The last couple of wins against Barcelona and Sassuolo have changed the mood around the Nerazzurri significantly.

However, in Capello’s view, Inter are still far from the finished articles, and are still in search of the right identity to move forward.

“Inter have not yet found the definitive setup on which to build themselves upon, and make changes during the match,” the former coach said.

“There’s been some experimentation, especially in defense and midfield, which have always been the strength of Inter, and instead this year they’ve been a bit lacking.”

He noted that “Then when you lose important players, like Perisic, it’s not easy to change up from them.”
