Inter striker Edin Dzeko feels that even though his strike partner Lautaro Martinez isn’t currently getting on the scoresheet, he can find his form in front of goal soon.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, the 36-year-old suggested that if everyone is patient then the Argentine will find his shooting boots, and said that he hopes that this can already come in this Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Barcelona.

Eight matches without a goal is hardly the kind of run that Martinez would like to be on.

The Argentine has started all but one of those matches for the Nerazzurri, and he has shown no lack of application and effort.

Moreover, there have been a few good chances that Martinez simply hasn’t taken, which has seen him enter a real goal drought.

However, as far as Dzeko is concerned, it is not something to become too preoccupied about, as if everyone simply waits, the goals will start to come again.

“Surely the goal will come,” the Bosnian striker said.

“These kinds of things happen to us as strikers,” he continued, “you have to be positive especially when the team wins.”

Dzeko predicted that “Sooner or later the goal will come, I hope it’s as soon as at the Camp Nou.”

He said of his strike parnter that “He’s just thinking about the team, if you don’t worry too much about it then the goal can come when you least expect it.”
