Robin Gosens could be allowed to leave Inter in January given that he has not found much playing time this season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri could sell the German and look for a player better-suited to replace Ivan Perisic on the left.

Gosens arrived at Inter in the January transfer window of last season with coach Simone Inzaghi as one of the former Atalanta wingback’s main sponsors.

However, Inzaghi has been reluctant to trust the German, even though this season he was expected to inherit the starting role on the left from Perisic who departed during the summer.

Accordingly, the 28-year-old could already be allowed to leave as early as this January after the World Cup, in search of more playing time.

Gosens had already been linked with Bayer Leverkusen during the last couple days of the summer transfer window, and a move back to the Bundesliga could still be on the cards.

Villarreal’s Alfonso Pedraza and Salernitana’s Pasquale Mazzocchi are among Inter’s targets on the left if Gosens is to depart.

However, an alternate profile could also be sought, with the club considering a more truly attack-minded option similar to Perisic who could truly replace the departed Croat like-for-like.
