Inter striker Romelu Lukaku was able to work with the ball in training today as he gets closer and closer to a full return to fitness.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the 29-year-old should be fully fit in time for the team’s Serie A clash with Salernitnana next weekend.

Lukaku has now missed a total of nine matches through his thigh strain, and he is set to miss one more in the form of their Champions League clash away to Barcelona this Wednesday.

However, while the Belgian is not quite close enough to a full recovery to play in that match, the feeling is that he should be ready right after that.

Inter host Salernitana at the San Siro on Sunday afternoon, and that is the match in which Lukaku is targeting his injury return.

At the moment, the striker is able to work with the ball in training, so there should be little doubt about his readiness to play against Salernitana.
