Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi will continue to show his faith in striker Lautaro Martinez with a start against Barcelona despite the Argentine’s recent goal drought.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the coach has no doubts and will double down on trusting the 25-year-old.

Martinez is now in the midst of his third-longest spell without a goal at the Nerazzurri, having failed to find the back of the net in eight matches in a row in all competitions.

This could be enough for doubts to creep in for some coaches.

However, as far as Inzaghi is concerned, Martinez remains a vital player, and he does not want to lose faith.

The coach expects that even though the 25-year-old is currently struggling, once he finds a goal again things will be back in business.

Inzaghi is fully committed to handing Martinez yet another chance from the start in Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Barcelona.
