It will be vital for Inter to know when and where to take their chances in tomorrow’s Champions League clash away at Barcelona.

This is the view of today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who argue that the Nerazzurri cannot expect to have control for long spells but must read the dynamics of the match.

Inter had to defend for the majority of their last meeting with Barcelona a week ago, and there is little reason to think that tomorrow won’t be the same.

The Blaugranas will in all likelihood have the lion’s share of possession which they will use to try and carve out chances.

Inter managed to all but stop Barcelona from creating good opportunities the last time around, and obviously will be hoping to repeat the trick, but they know this will be if anything even more difficult at the Camp Nou.

One key to doing this will be knowing when and where to hit the Blaugranas on the break, or to try and keep possession.

If Inter overextend themselves they risk leaving space at the back for a relentless Barcelona team to exploit, and so not doing so will be key to another successful defensive effort.

However, a failure to hold onto the ball or give the Blaugranas something to think about at the other end would not only mean that Inter won’t be able to generate goalscoring chances, but also will not have any room to breathe.

Getting the balance right for Inter will mean having a foothold in the match in a proactive sense, but still prioritizing defensive solidity and compactness.
