Inter defender Milan Skriniar is expecting that the team will have to find a tough balance between defense and attack against Barcelona this evening.

Speaking to Amazon Prime ahead of the Champions League group stage clash, with 27-year-old emphasized that the Nerazzurri will have to both defend in numbers and also pick their moments to attack.

Inter will be expecting a match with a fairly similar pattern of play to their first meeting with the Blaugranas last week.

Barcelona are one of the strongest teams in Europe in possession, and can pen virtually anyone back.

As with last week’s encounter, the Nerazzurri will have to hold out defensively against an onslaught of Barcelona possession if they’re to have a chance at getting a result.

However, showing a threat on the counter will also be important, and this will require committing players and taking risks as well.

“We’ll have to be very careful from start to finish,” Skriniar said.

“We know that we have to defend very deep, but we will also have to attack, otherwise we’re not going to get very far.”

“Seeing the welcome given to us by the home fans, we can say that they fear us,” he continued.

“They’ve got everything on the line, but we do too,”

“Every match must be played like a final, and that will certainly be the case here.”
