Defender Milan Skriniar’s future at Inter is uncertain, although the trust shown in him by the club in the form of the captaincy against Barcelona was appreciated by him.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 27-year-old felt more appreciated after being given the armband, especially after the summer when it looked like he could leave for Paris Saint-Germain.

Skriniar had been ready to agree on a move to PSG in the summer, as he understood that it could be financially necessary for the Nerazzurri to allow him to leave for a big transfer fee.

The 27-year-old was also more than happy to remain at Inter, but the knowledge that the club could have sanctioned a big money sale still lingered.

Accordingly, it meant a lot to Skriniar that, even after having looked ready to cash in during the summer, the club saw him as the right man to wear the armband in last week’s massive Champions League match against the Blaugranas.
