AC Milan President believes that a new stadium in Milan will put Milan and Inter at the highest level in European football.

Speaking to the media at the public debate on the new stadium plans, as reported by FCInterNews, Scaroni highlighted what the €1.3 billion investment in a new structure would represent for the teams.

Inter and Milan are going full speed ahead in trying to build a new stadium in Milan.

The clubs have long maintained that starting construction would represent a vital step towards a future where their infrastructure and ability to generate revenue are on par with the biggest clubs in Europe.

Both the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri have experienced notable financial restrictions in recent years.

Scaroni highlighted how with the investment in a new stadium, the clubs could have a new outlook.

This, for him, would be comparable to that of Europe’s very biggest clubs.

“We have put our experts to work, developing a new stadium at San Siro that meets all economic and financial requirements put before us,” the Milan President said.

“We have a €1.3 billion investment in mind,” he continued, “a significant figure that we would spend on public land with capital which would come from foreign sources, given that our two clubs are foreign-owned.”

“And we will continue to have, while the stadium is being built, a competitive activity that will allow us to continue to bring in revenues and continue to maintain Milan as the capital of Italian football.”

“We want to see Milan and Inter with a stadium that allows us to bring in revenues and offer the spectacle that our European competitors can,” he explained.
