Reaching the Round of 16 of the Champions League this season is set to be worth an additional €20 million to Inter at a time when they need the money, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter’s chances of getting to the next round of the Champions League are very high following the win and draw against Barcelona in consecutive games.

That means that the Nerazzurri can start to think about how it affects their finances for the season.

Inter are set to receive €9.6 million from UEFA as prize money just for reaching the next round.

An additional €2-3 million will be added to Inter’s share of the market pool, and then they will make €7-8 million from the Round of 16 match at the San Siro from gate receipts.

Inter have already made €36.4 million just from being in the tournament this season due to participation, historical ranking, the market pool and then the results achieved so far.

A win against Viktoria Plzen at San Siro will secure Inter’s qualification.
