Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is set to undergo medical checks at the start of the week before possibly returning to group training, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

As has been reported by Sport Mediaset, via FCInter1908, the Belgian striker is going to be assessed at the beginning of next week before further decisions are made on his recovery.

It seems that he will play no role at all against Salernitana on Sunday as the new aim is for him to be at least on the bench against Fiorentina next weekend in Florence.

Providing the checks next week go well, the plan is that he will be able to rejoin group training with the rest of his teammates in the run-up to Fiorentina.

As for Joaquin Correa, he is a step ahead of the Belgian as he is now back in group training and is set to play against Salernitana.
