The 3-3 draw against Barcelona in the Champions League has thrown up some new tactical possibilities for Simone Inzaghi to consider in the future, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, there was much for Simone Inzaghi to think about and carry into the next matches from the Champions League game on Wednesday at Camp Nou.

Something for him to consider is the superb performance off the bench from Robin Gosens who has really staked his claim to take that left wingback position off of Federico Dimarco again.

Another consideration is how well Hakan Calhanoglu played in the centre of the midfield three in a deeper role.

That is the position usually taken up by Marcelo Brozovic and the deputy is Kristjan Asllani.

Clearly though, he can be very effective there rather than just from the left of the midfield three in a mezzala role.
