Inter have gotten themselves back in form after their poor start to the season through decisive meetings between the squad where they spoke frankly and aired their grievances.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that it was particularly the Italian players in the Nerazzurri squad who took a decisive role in leading these discussions.
Inter had clearly not looked at their best in their opening few matches to the campaign, with the team not quite compact on the pitch and not looking fully focused as they slumped to four Serie A defeats.
This has had more to do with the approach than with the quality of the players, which has never been in question.
The players recognized this, and understood that they had to make changes to start performing to their own standards.
There were two decisive meetings among the entire locker room in which things were hashed out and the players resolved to to take a fresh approach.
It has been the Italian players in the squad who took a leading role in these meetings.
34-year-olds Danilo D’Ambrosio and Francesco Acerbi were the senior figures, but younger players like Nicolo Barella, Federico Dimarco, and Alessandro Bastoni also played a key role in spurring on their teammates in these discussions.
