Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin feels that the team always wanted coach Simone Inzaghi to finally start making some tough decisions.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, Biasin explained that the Nerazzurri locker room had been hoping for the coach to stop being indecisive and to take firm positions and stick with them.

Over the first few matches, Inzaghi gave opportunities to virtually the whole squad as he rotated constantly between matches.

This may have meant that players stayed fresher, but it prevented the Nerazzurri from establishing a consistent standard of performances on the pitch.

In recent matches, the Nerazzurri have played with a more consistent identity.

Andre Onana looks to have become the first-choice goalkeeper, whilst only one change was made to the starting eleven between matches against Barcelona and Salernitana.

Inzaghi looks to have finally accepted that he needs to take risks to be decisive, something which Biasin feels was welcomed by the squad.

“I’m convinced that the locker room wanted to see Inzaghi take a few positive positions,” he said, “he’s a good coach, but he had to grow in terms of personality.”

“And he’s shown exactly this in the past couple weeks.”

“The analysis is simple, Bastoni said it before Salernitana – now they’re a team and we can seen it plainly.”
