Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is once again secure in his position at Inter.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who suggest that the 46-year-old has fully seen off doubts regarding his Nerazzurri future, and gotten the team back in the Serie A title race.
Inzaghi had been subject to perhaps greater speculation and doubt than at any other time since joining Inter last summer based on the team’s poor start to the current campaign.
A response was badly needed on the pitch, but that is exactly what arrived.
Four points in the Champions League against Barcelona and consecutive victories in the league against Sassuolo and Salernitana have the look of a team that is really back in business.
Apart from the much-needed results, the performances showed both that Inzaghi can get the team back on track tactically and that the players are as hungry as ever, still backing the coach.
Now, Inzaghi can do what was virtually unthinkable just a couple weeks ago by plotting a way back into the Scudetto race over the coming weeks and months.
