Italian journalist Carlo Festa has confirmed that Suning are looking to sell Inter, but also that it will not be straightforward.
Reporting in a tweet, the journalist for Italian business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore weighed in on the situation.
Yesterday a report emerged from UK-based news outlet Financial Times which claimed that Suning have given investment banks Goldman Sachs and Raine Group the mandate to find a buyer for Inter.
The owners have been linked with a sale of the Nerazzurri on numerous occasions in the past, but this could well be a major step.
Completing a sale of a club the size of Inter would not be a simple task, however.
As Festa made clear in his tweet on the matter, a lot will have to happen before Suning could potentially sell Inter.
Now, it will be remain to be seen how the situation will develop, with a number of interested parties.
“After yesterday’s confirmation of what Il Sole 24 Ore anticipated three weeks ago, Goldman, Raine, and a prominent law firm are at work on finding a buyer for Inter,” Festa tweeted.
“Some investment banks are moving to find buyers but it won’t be an easy task,” he added. “Interest is being probed in the US.”
