Inter owners Suning’s search for minority investment looks like history repeating itself, given the similarities with former President Massimo Moratti having gone through a similar process.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who compare the two situations.

Suning have been linked with a sale of Inter for some time, with a report from Financial Times yesterday claiming that they have officially put the club up for sale.

However, that report also mentioned that the owners would additionally be interested in the possibility of minority investment.

This has been reported as an option considered by the owners for some time, as they could aim to keep control whilst also getting a cash injection.

This had also been an option looked at by Moratti before the former President eventually sold the controlling share of the club to Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir.

In the view of Tuttosport, the situations are following a similar script, and likely to end the same way – with the current owners giving up control and selling Inter outright.
