Inter will have a lot of work to do on the squad next summer given the number of players in the team who have either permanent contracts or loan deals expiring.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who note that a total of thirteen players in the Nerazzurri’s see their current deals expire at the end of June 2023.
Defender Milan Skriniar is by far Inter’s most high-profile contract situation, with the 27-year-old’s present deal running out at the end of the season.
However, he is far from the only player whose situation is uncertain, with his defensive partner Stefan de Vrij also seeing his deal expire, whilst the likes of Danilo D’Ambrosio and Matteo Darmian are also on expiring contracts.
Captain Samir Handanovic and third-choice goalkeeper Alex Cordaz are similar situations, although the latter could be useful to extend with due to UEFA squad list reasons.
In addition to players whose permanent deals are expiring, a number of players are technically only at Inter on loan for the season, including Romelu Lukaku, Raoul Bellanova, and Francesco Acerbi.
