US-based investment bank Raine Group have a history of putting together consortiums to purchase major football clubs, and could do so with Inter.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who note that the bank are working with Nerazzurri owners Suning, and that their purchase could be to facilitate the purchase of the club by a consortium rather than a single buyer.

Raine have developed a reputation for working in the sales of football clubs, specifically in coordinating consortiums of multiple buyers to complete deals.

Notably, the US bank was involved in the sale of Premier League giants Chelsea to a group led by Todd Boehly earlier this year.

Additionally, Raine were involved as consultants in City Group’s entry of New York City FC into MLS in 2013, and then the subsequent creation of the ownership of Inter Miami in 2018.

The investment bank could play a similar role in setting up a purchase of Inter from Suning.
