Suning are not likely to go below their asking price of €1.2 billion if they are to sell Inter.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri owners will hold firm in their valuation of the club.

Suning are increasingly open to selling Inter, but their intention would be to sell it at a valuation that would not see them sell at a loss.

Last year, BC Partners made an offer of €750,000 to Suning to purchase Inter, which they arrived at after evaluating the club in the due diligence phase.

However, the Nerazzurri owners rejected this out of hand, and would hold firm to a valuation right around €1.2 billion.

The benchmark for this number is also that AC Milan were recently sold for around this amount, and the two clubs have similar values as brands.

Inter’s financial situation is one aspect potentially devaluing the club in the event of a sale.

However, Suning also feel that with the team having qualified for the Champions League knockouts last season, and potentially doing so this season, there is reason to expect that the value will only grow.
