Chelsea are totally open to extending the loan move of striker Romelu Lukaku to Inter next summer in view of an eventual permanent deal.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that there is little doubt among the Blues’ ownership that they’d be willing to agree a permanent return for the Belgian in the summer of 2024.

Lukaku remains an important player for Inter even though he has missed over a month and a half through injury and some doubts have been raised regarding his physical durability.

The Nerazzurri’s intention is still to try and extend the 29-year-old’s loan next summer.

There should not be much resistance coming from Chelsea, who would be ready to agree another paid loan deal next summer similar to the one that Lukaku is currently at Inter on, with a fee of around €10 million.

After that loan would be concluded, the Blues would also be completely open to discussing a permanent sale of the Belgian in the summer of 2024, and this would be Inter’s intention.
