Inter will not have any money in their budget to spend on the January transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that any cash will go towards the priority of extending defender Milan Skriniar’s contract rather than towards new signings.

Last season, Inter dipped into the January transfer market by signing Robin Gosens from Atalanta and also loaning Felipe Caicedo from Genoa.

The team could well decide to reinforce in January this campaign as well.

However, if they are to do so, it will be within tight financial restrictions.

Inter could bring in some extra cash if they are to secure the financial windfall of Champions League knockout stage qualification in their last two group games.

However, even if this is to be the case, this cash should go towards the contract talks with Skriniar.

Extending the Slovakian’s deal is the absolute priority, and the Nerazzurri have set the date for the start of talks for after next week’s group stage clash with Viktoria Plzen, in the hope that they will have security regarding the Champions League knockouts to move forward in talks.
