Ex-Nerazzurri defender Francesco Colonnese would chose Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi over Fiorentina’s Vincenzo Italiano.

Former Inter Milan defender Francesco Colonnese discussed his preference between Inter manager Simone Inzaghi and Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano.

“I prefer [Simone Inzaghi] because he is doing great work in Milano. It is not easy to manager Inter. Vincenzo [Italiano] is a good manager but he has yet to be properly tested.

“A manager becomes great when he has able to get out of difficult situations. Inzaghi is one of the better managers in Italy,” said the former Inter defender to RadioFirenzeViola via FCInterNews.

The Italian defender played with Napoli and AS Roma before moving to Inter in 1998.

Francesco Colonnese made 80 appearances with the Nerazzurri and scored 2 goals, while contributed 2 assists during the two years with the club.

Following his time at the San Siro, the Italian defender moved to SS Lazio in July 2000, where he made 29 appearances before leaving the club in 2004.

Prior to joining AS Roma, Franceso Colonnese played for Cremonese in Serie A during the last spell when the Cremona-based bluc was in the Italian top flight.

The former Napoli and Roma defender finished off his career with AC Siena and Potenza and collected a total of 183 appearances in Serie A.

The defender retired in 2008 with a total of 221 league appearances. He also made 6 appearances with the Italian Under 21 team.
