Inter could see one of Beppe Marotta and Alessandro Antonello appointed to the position of CEO within the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics team.

According to today’s newspaper edition of La Repubblica, the newly-formed Italian government under Giorgia Meloni could have wider repercussions for Inter and their two CEOs.

Meloni has appointed Andrea Abodi as Minister for Sport with a focus on securing the hosting rights to Euro 2032, leaving his previous role as the CEO of the Winter Olympics administrative team now vacant.

Abodi was set to take on the Winter Olympics role but with his focus now elsewhere, Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) President Giovanni Malago must look elsewhere.

It is reported that both Marotta and Antonello are being considered for the position, as experienced CEOs based within Milan, although it is also believed that Abodi’s departure could lead to turmoil that makes the next appointment less easy to predict.

Milan and Cortina are set to host the Winter Olympics in February 2026.
