Inter are running the risk of losing centre-back Milan Skriniar on a free transfer next summer if they don’t buckle and meet his wage demands for a new contract.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the pressure is mounting on the Nerazzurri to reach a breakthrough with Skriniar, particularly as the defender is out of contract in the summer and could begin talks with other clubs in the coming months.

The newspaper suggests that the strongest interest in the Slovakia international has come from Paris Saint-Germain, and whilst Inter are keen to retain him, they have not come close to offering the €9 million wages, plus bonuses, of the French club.

Indeed, Inter’s offer is currently stretching to €6m and the Nerazzurri are seemingly relying on the undeniable attachment that Skriniar has to the club, but there is a genuine risk that no agreement will be reached.

Should they fail to secure new terms, Inter may have to look to cash in on Skriniar and generate €25m in January, although it is a considerable drop from the €50m it is believed that they could have landed last summer.
