Legendary former Inter, Roma, Real Madrid, and Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano feels that Inter should have made much lighter work of their Serie A match against Fiorentina over the weekend.

Speaking on his Instagram profile, as reported by FCInterNews, Cassano gave the view that the Nerazzurri should not have risked losing the match to the degree that they did, and also criticized the refereeing display of official Paolo Valeri.

Inter scored twice within the first half against La Viola to put themselves in what looked like a commanding position.

However, a cheaply-conceded penalty in the first half gave the Tuscans a way back into the match, before the temporary comeback was completed early in the second half.

In the end, the Nerazzurri ran out victors from what was a fairly topsy-turvy match.

However, for his part, Cassano was not overly convinced by the manner of Inter’s victory.

“Inter had an extraordinary first fifteen minutes and should have had the match wrapped up,” he said.

“Then they stopped trying to play until it was 2-2, and furthermore Federico Dimarco should’ve been sent off, it’s scandalous that he wasn’t and Paolo Valeri should miss five matches for that.”

“Then Inter woke up,” Cassano continued, “they made it 3-2, they conceded the equalizer for 3-3, and in the end they made it 4-3 – it was a wild match.”

“Fiorentina played a good match,” he argued, “they showed all their quality.”

“Inter are like this, they risked not winning a match that they should’ve had wrapped up easily.”
