Legendary former Fiorentina, Bayern Munich, and Hellas Verona striker Luca Toni feels that Federico Dimarco deserves a lot of credit for his performance in yesterday evening’s Champions League win by Inter over Viktoria Plzen.

Speaking to Amazon Prime after the match, the former striker singled out the 24-year-old for praise for his display up and down the Nerazzurri’s left flank.

Dimarco has been in broadly good form over the past few matches, and he had another standout performance for Plzen.

The 24-year-old ran the show from his left-wingback position, with his expansive passing range key to the team’s ability to carve open the Czech champions time and time again.

Dimarco formed a very effective partnership with Alessandro Bastoni on the Nerazzurri’s left.

Together, the two young Italians were instrumental in building Inter’s attacks.

It was an impressive statement by Dimarco who continues to show what a useful weapon he can be for the Nerazzurri this season.

“Credit to the forwards who had a great match,” Toni said, “but also special mention for Dimarco, who had an absolutely excellent match on the wing.”
