Inter are likely to hold their training retreat during the World Cup break in Malta.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that this is increasingly the pick that the Nerazzurri are leaning towards now that they have rejected the possibility of travelling to Saudi Arabia for the retreat.

Inter had been evaluating the possibility of holding their pre-season retreat in Saudi Arabia initially.

Considering that the gulf state will play host to the Supercoppa Italiana match between Inter and AC Milan in January, this was a factor in considering it as a location.

However, the Nerazzurri are now likely to pass over this option, and they have a few other possibilities.

The possibility of holding the retreat during the World Cup break in Spain had been one option considered.

However, according to the Corriere the club are now increasingly leaning towards Malta.
