Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana has shown greater consistency after establishing himself as first choice goalkeeper, as he featured in the 3-0 win over Sampdoria yesterday.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Cameroon international has recovered from an unconvincing start since displacing veteran Samir Handanovic earlier in the season and is showing signs of being an astute signing.

Victory over the Blucerchiati was a second successive clean sheet and a third in four matches, as Inter’s defence has tightened up in front of Onana.

The 26-year-old pulled off a fine save to deny Ignacio Pussetto, whilst his quick reactions spared Francesco Acerbi’s blushes as the Nerazzurri defender almost turned the ball into his own net.

For his performance against Sampdoria, the newspaper awarded Onana a 6.5 rating and noted that he was showing a greater balance and making a positive impact.

Onana joined Inter on a free transfer from Ajax this summer, after his contract with the Dutch club expired.
