Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi has done well to get the team out of what had turned into a full-blown crisis.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Rai Radio, Adani praised the 46-year-old for making the kinds of choices that were needed to turn around the team’s form for an October that has been close to perfect.

Inter’s start to the season was hardly what the team will have wanted.

The Nerazzurri arguably hit a low point for the campaign by losing to Roma at the San Siro at the beginning of this month, letting a first-half lead slip to fall to their second consecutive defeat in Serie A.

However, the response to this bad period has been emphatic.

Four wins on the bounce in the league have been accompanied by qualification for the Champions League round of sixteen.

Adani was full of praise for Inzaghi who he feels showed his abilities to orchestrate this turnaround.

“Simone Inzaghi is 46 years old,” he said of the coach, “he’s in his seventh year as a coach having spent five years at Lazio and then one at Inter, so he’s been doing this for a while.”

“He proved himself in Rome, although his time at Inter was starting to be in danger of coming off the rails, between injuries, a style of play that was starting to look stale, and getting some decisions wrong.”

“But then he showed that he’s ‘young but wise’, he’s been able to get the team back up with even decisive, unexpected choices, even from the point of view of the style of play, both tactical and personnel management decisions which I believe is one of his best qualities.”

“In the end, Inter are back in business and playing good football,” Adani added.
