Investigators are looking into the incidents which saw Inter fans forced to vacate the north stand of the San Siro in Saturday’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria, and could hand stadium bans to the individuals responsible.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that there is a parallel to a similar event that took place at the end of the 2016-17 season.
After the scandalous scenes which saw fans forced to leave the stand by intimidation and violence after the Curva Nord ultras decided to vacate the stand in tribute to prominent ultra Vittoria Boiocchi who had been gunned down earlier that day, the authorities are reviewing all available video evidence.
It can hardly be ruled out that once the investigation is concluded, stadium bans will be handed out to anyone found to have been a major instigator during the incident.
As Tuttosport, a similar incident had already taken place in a match against Sassuolo at the San Siro on the 14th of May, 2017, with that having been in protest of the Nerazzurri’s poor displays on the pitch.
