Inter attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni is pleased with his Champions League debut against Bayern Munich.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset after the match, the 17-year-old expressed his thoughts after taking one more step towards his dream of becoming a full-fledged Nerazzurri player.

Carboni came off the bench in the second half of Inter’s 2-0 loss to Bayern Munich yesterday evening.

Even though the Argentine couldn’t help his team to get a result, the fact that he did not look out of place against one of the strongest teams in Europe in a tough away ground was a positive indication.

Carboni will still have a lot of work left to do if he is to make good on his potential.

However, yesterday evening’s match was an important milestone for the 17-year-old.

Carboni was in a positive mood after making his first ever appearance in Europe’s top club competition.

“First of all, I’m very happy to have made my debut in this shirt in such an important competition,” the Argentine said, “I thank my teammates and all the staff.”

He noted that “The team has helped me grow a lot and this is a dream I’ve always had.”

“Playing for Inter and always improving is my dream.”
