Inter want to go into the World Cup break in the right kind of form by winning their last three matches in Serie A beforehand.

This is highlighted by Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who note the significance of the three matches for the Nerazzurri’s season as a whole, and the importance of the team staying switched on, particularly defensively.

Inter have nine points to play for before the squad disperses for the World Cup break.

This weekend’s clash away to Juventus promises to be one of the most formidable challenges of the team’s season, whilst an away trip to Bergamo to face Atalanta won’t be much easier.

Even the match against Bologna next Wednesday is hardly one in which any result can be taken for granted.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri will have to get their levels up to their best for this one final push.

For Mediaset, this is especially true of the defense, considering that the Nerazzurri currently have the worst defensive record in away matches in all of Serie A.

If Inter are to tighten up at the back and produce compact displays away to Juventus and Atalanta then they can keep themselves in touching distance of the top of the Serie A table for when the league returns after the World Cup.
