Inter’s squad are pleased to have avoided the most difficult possible opposition in the Champions League round of sixteen draw.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the mood within the squad has been a fairly positive one in response to drawing Portuguese champions Porto instead of some of the strongest teams on paper for the next round.

Inter will not be underestimating their opposition in the round of sixteen, especially considering that Porto have managed to top a group containing Club Brugge, Bayer Leverkusen, and Atletico Madrid.

According to Sky, this is not what the Nerazzurri’s players are doing, as they are still mentally preparing for a very tough two-legged time.

However, at the same time, the squad were very wary of the possibility of drawing teams like Manchester City, Chelsea, or Real Madrid.

By avoiding them, the players feel that they have been given a real opportunity to progress to the knockout rounds of the competition.
