Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni feels that the team must recover mentally from the setback of a tough loss to Juventus over the weekend as soon as possible.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, the 23-year-old emphasized that this evening’s Serie A clash with Bologna has to be the first step to immediately getting back on their feet after Sunday’s loss to Bianconeri.

Inter had built up some momentum with their performances and results in October, but all of that came to a screeching halt with Sunday’s loss in the Derby d’Italia.

The Nerazzurri now have two more matches before the World Cup break, this evening’s against Bologna and then next Sunday’s clash with Atalanta.

These will represent important opportunities for the team to prove that the loss away to Juventus was just a blip.

However, as Bastoni points out, before they can do this, the Nerazzurri must quickly find the right mentality again.

“Losing to Juve was certainly a heavy blow considering how important the match was,” he said.

“Now we have to get our heads back into place immediately and start taking points, starting with tonight.”
