Inter are set to hold a training retreat and two friendly matches in Malta during the upcoming World Cup break.

This according to Maltese broadcaster TVMSport, who report that the plans are all in place for the Nerazzurri to decamp to the country during the break in club football for the international tournament.

The Nerazzurri are set to hold a training camp with the members of the squad who are not called up to their national teams during the World Cup.

A number of locations for the camp had been considered, including Spain, as well as Saudi Arabia, where the Supercoppa Italiana match against AC Milan will be held in January.

In the end, however, the club look to have settled on Malta.

According to TVMSport, all of the logistics and planning are close to being done for the training retreat.

Additionally, the broadcaster report that the Nerazzurri will play one friendly against Maltese club Hamrun Spartans, and then another friendly against another team, possibly a national team.
