Inter’s focus has definitively shifted from the Serie A title to making sure that they do not lose out on the top four in the table.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that after the start to the campaign that the team has had, the priority is now making sure that they secure Champions League football for next season.

Inter’s loss to Juventus over the weekend made if five from thirteen matches played in the league.

No team has ever won the Scudetto from this position.

Making matters worse, Napoli have gotten off to an absolutely blazing start to the campaign in the same period.

This finds the Nerazzurri eleven points behind the Partenopei, as well as trailing the likes of AC Milan, Lazio, Roma, Atalanta, and Juventus in the table.

The feeling in the team at this stage is that the focus isn’t on catching up to Napoli at the top, which would be a very ambitious goal indeed.

Rather, the directors have stressed that consistency of results must be found so that the team do not fall behind in the race for top four, with several teams involved this season.
