Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi feels that La Dea will be motivated to try to put their shock loss at the hands of Lecce behind them by getting a positive result against Inter on Sunday.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, the 29-year-old stressed that after Wednesday’s disappointment, the Lombard team will be all the more eager to prove that it was nothing more than a blip.

Atalanta will not have expected to drop points away to newly-promoted Lecce, let alone to suffer a damaging defeat.

However, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men fell to a 2-1 loss, their third of the campaign, having also recently lost to the likes of Lazio and Napoli.

Now, La Dea will be hungry to bounce back, although they have very tough opposition to do so against in the form of the Nerazzurri.

Malinovskyi reflected on the state of things, stating that “We need to improve our football.”

“Right away we have Inter on the way,” the Ukrainian continued, “we have to play much better against them.”

“We need to react and show that we’re a good team, and we’ll prepare for it in the best way possible.”
