Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin expects that Inter defender Milan Skriniar is keen to extend his Nerazzurri contract but that the agreement is not on the way imminently.

Reporting in a tweet, the journalist explained that Skriniar’s will is to stay on at Inter, and that an agreement won’t necessarily arrive in the next couple minutes but should come by Christmas.

Inter have been pushing to secure Skriniar’s future with a new contract in recent weeks.

The club do not want there to be any doubt for much longer, and want to know that there isn’t a risk of losing the 27-year-old on a free transfer at the end of the current season.

According to Biasin, it looks as though Inter will be successful in their efforts, and that the timeline should see this confirmed by the end of December.

He tweeted about the situation that “ The player’s willingness to extend is there, but it will take time – the parties are in contact to find an agreement on wages and duration.”

Biasin continued that “The club expect to reach an agreement no later than Christmas.”

He concludes, “To be clear, the negotiations have already progressed quite a way.”
