Inter-owned striker Martin Satriano has not been included in the Uruguayan national team’s squad list for the upcoming World Cup.

This is confirmed by the announcement of the official squad list for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar by the Uruguayan FA on their official Twitter, with Satriano excluded but former Nerazzurri duo Matias Vecino and Diego Godin called up.

Empoli has been taking steps within the senior game over the past couple of seasons, having spent the second half of last campaign on loan with Brest before joining Empoli on loan for the current campaign.

However, the 21-year-old’s form has not been enough to see him called up for his national team.

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez and Trabzonspor’s Maxi Gomez, formerly of Valencia and Celta Vigo, join experienced duo Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani as the Celeste’s striker force for the tournament.

Meanwhile, Vecino who left Inter for Lazio over the summer, and Godin, who spent one campaign as a Nerazzurri player, are both included.
