Inter are ready to offer new contracts to striker Edin Dzeko and wingback Matteo Darmian, but only on reduced wages compared to what the pair currently earn.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that agreeing to lower salary terms will be the key to whether or not new deals are agreed with the experienced duo.

Based on the season so far, Inter have been happy with the continued performance levels of both Dzeko and Darmian.

Both of the pair continue to be important players for the team both on the pitch and in the dressing room.

In both cases, the Nerazzurri’s intention is now decisively to try and secure their futures by offering them extensions to their current contracts, both of which expire at the end of June 2023.

However, if pen is to be put to paper on a new deal, the pair would be expected to accept lower wages than they currently earn.
