Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana has been temporarily suspended by the Cameroonian FA for disciplinary reasons following his withdrawal from the squad at the World Cup in Qatar.

This is confirmed by a press release on the Cameroonian FA’s official Twitter account, where they explain that the Nerazzurri keeper has been suspended following the decision of head coach Rigobert Song.

Onana dropped out of Cameroon’s team for this afternoon’s World Cup group stage match against Serbia, which ended in a 3-3 draw.

The 26-year-old had started in the Indomitable Lions’ group stage opener against Switzerland.

Reports suggested that the reason for the Inter keeper being dropped from the first match had to do with a disagreement between he and Song regarding the tactics and his role as goalkeeper.

The statement by the Cameroonian FA does not go into detail regarding the reason for Onana’s suspension, but only specifies that he is suspended for disciplinary reasons.
